Ricinus Communis CASTOR-OIL-PLANT Summer Flower Plant

CASTOR-OIL-PLANT
The oil from the seeds of the castor-oil-plant make both the gastrointestinal tract and racing car engines move faster. Because of its toxicity, castor oil is a tried-and-tested medicine for constipation – the intestines try to get rid of the poison as quickly as possible. At one time, castor oil was also a favorite for racing car engines.
Be careful with the seeds, as they are highly toxic if swallowed. Soak them for 24 hours in tepid water, and then sow them in a warm place indoors, or directly in the garden from mid-May onwards. This small plant of African origin likes to grow in a warm spot in very fertile soil. If you give it liberal amounts of fertilizer, it may grow to a height of 6 ft, with a spread of over 39 in. The foliage is magnificently palm-shaped. You may expect to see the first flowers – prickly, yellow with a lot of red – after two or three months.
