Linaria Maroccana Moroccan Toadflax Summer Flower Plant

MOROCCAN TOADFLAX
The kinds of Moroccan toadflax that are on sale are nearly always cultivars resulting from crosses between several annual types of toadflax. The flowers are always small, V2-3/4 in long, and always colorful in shades of red, lilac, pink, and yellow, nearly always with a yellow or white spot on their lips. The plants grow about 12-16 in tall and are often used in compact multicolored groups. When seen flowering among other wild flowers, they lose their somewhat artificial appearance.
Sow directly in the garden for the plants to flower in July-August, and sow again for later flowers. Cut off the stems after they have flowered to encourage a second flush. Linaria maroccana ‘Fairy Bouquet’ is one of the multicolored mixtures.
