Datura Metel Angel’s Trumpets White Summer Flower Plant

ANGELS’ TRUMPETS
The white-flowered variety of Datura metel is particularly beautiful. The flowers grow up to 8 in long and are pertly upright. There are other colors as well, even among those growing wild, including purple, violet, and yellow. Datura metel Tlore Pleno’ has purple double flowers tinged with white. The species itself stems from Asia, but is to be found both as a garden plant and a weed in many subtropical regions nowadays. The entire plant is highly toxic. Although the stems with their soft, downy leaves can grow to 5 ft tall, the plant usually remains much in cooler climates, particularly when grown in a container.
Sow the seeds of this annual indoors in March-April or in a sunny position outdoors in May. The plants have no further requirements, apart from having a distinct liking for loose, nutritive soil. They will flower about three months after they were sown.
