Long-blooming and Long-lived Perennials

Perennials are herbaceous plants that come back year after year and some even becomes a permanent fixture in your garden. Some examples of perennials that are long-lived are peony, hosta, bearded iris, Siberian iris, daylily, hellebore, euphoria, red-hot poker or torch lily, monkshood, bugbane, gas plant, balloon flower, balloon flower, false indigo, lily-of-the-Nile, astilbe,  purple coneflower, black-eyed Susan, Helianthus, butterfly weed, goldenrod, bee balm, goatsbeard, ironweed, Joe-pye weed, sneezeweed, sedum and trillium.
